The bus service that travels between Burringham and Scunthorpe now runs Monday to Friday via Parklands, Ashby High Street, Lakeside Retail Park and John Leggott College.

Bus service 10 used to operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and only included Burringham on Friday. It now follows a more consistent route ensuring people have links to retail, leisure and employment.

Cllr Tim Mitchell, cabinet member for connectivity, said:

“Improving connectivity across North Lincolnshire is a key priority, which is why we are making bus services across the area better. We have listened to residents who wanted more buses to run more regularly between Burringham and Scunthorpe – joining up towns and villages.

“Government cash is supporting the development of bus services across North Lincolnshire, enabling residents to travel sustainably and help contribute towards a clean and green local environment.

“These services mean people can connect with family and friends, access health services or simply do some shopping.”

This follows on from improvements being made to bus services 4 connecting residents between Scunthorpe and Brigg on Sundays and bank holidays and bus service 357 which now runs more evening services between Doncaster and the Isle of Axholme.

The council received more than £1m government cash from the Bus Service Improvement Plan plus funding (BSIP+) for up to 2025 and more recently £965,000 following the government’s announcement of £150m funding to improve bus services for 2024/25 in the Midlands and North of England.
