A new online event is set to help people discover more about adopting a child.

The launch of the session comes as kind and caring people are needed to become adoptive parents more than ever and help vulnerable children in North Lincolnshire.

Adoption can be an immensely rewarding experience; by offering a supportive family life where a child can flourish, you will make 2021 a life changing year.

The first online information event will be held on 6 January from 5.30pm. It will be a great opportunity to find out more and hear the experiences of local adopters.

To take the first steps to completing your family, book your free place on Eventbrite today.

Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, said:

“Having adopted 2 children myself, I speak from experience when I say, I know adopting a child is a big decision and it can be an immensely rewarding one. If you want the chance to make a real life-long change to a child’s future for the rest of their life then having a secure loving family is the start of that change.

“Adoption is simpler and quicker than you might expect, and our friendly and supportive adoption team, rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, are on hand to help you at every step of the process.

“I know its been a challenging year, many of us have re-evaluated our priorities and considered what is important to our families. I would urge anyone who can offer a child a safe and loving home to register for the information event. Hearing first hand from adoptive parents is the best way to find out more.”

North Lincolnshire needs adoptive families for children of all ages with a range of backgrounds

You must be over 21, but there is no upper age limit. You can be single or in a relationship; renting or buying your home; have children or be first time parents.

The most important thing is that you can offer love, time and commitment to help a child achieve their hopes and dreams.

You don’t have to live in North Lincolnshire to adopt and we welcome interest from those in and outside of North Lincolnshire.

Our adoptive parents tell us how much they appreciate the care they receive and efficiency of the process with North Lincolnshire.

One North Lincolnshire adopter said:

“Thank you so much for your help, support and kindness throughout our adoption journey. You made us feel at ease from the very beginning and you made what could have been a difficult process something which we enjoyed and got more out of than we ever thought possible.”

If adoption isn’t for you, you may know someone who would make a fantastic adoptive parent. Tell them that North Lincolnshire Adoption Team would love to hear from them.

If you can’t make the information event, give the adoption team a call on 01724 297000 or complete the simple adoption enquiry form on our website and the team will contact you.
