Summary narrative

Winterton Children’s Centre is located in Winterton in the Barton and District locality, with the catchment area consisting of part of Burton upon Stather and Winterton ward.

An estimated 425 under 5s live in this catchment area which represents 5% of all under 5s in North Lincolnshire; over a quarter (28%) of resident women are of child bearing age which is one of the lowest proportions in North Lincolnshire with very low numbers of women from a minority ethnic background; the fertility rate is also low.

Health outcomes for adults and life expectancy for residents of this catchment are generally average.

Child poverty in the area is lower than average with a quarter (24%) of under 5s living in England’s 30% most deprived areas, 18% living in relative low income, a fifth (20%) eligible for free school meals and just 7% of households with children claiming Universal Credit; all significantly below average.
