Summary narrative

Manor Farm Children’s Centre is located in Scunthorpe South locality with the catchment mainly including Kingsway with Lincoln Gardens ward.

An estimated 315 under 5s live in this catchment area which represents 4% of all under 5s in North Lincolnshire and is the second smallest under 5s population; just over a third (36%) of resident women are of child bearing age with very low numbers born outside of the UK.

The adult population of this area experience average health outcomes and life expectancy.

Childhood poverty is average with 44% of the under 5 population living in England’s 30% most deprived neighbourhoods; 15% of under 16s live in relative low income and 18% are eligible for free school meals which is significantly below average.

The area has low levels of late maternity bookings, deliveries to women of a minority ethnic background, women aged under 20 and with a low birth weight.
