Childcare Sufficiency

Councils have a duty to ensure that enough childcare is available for children up to the age of 14 years old (18 years for children with a disability). This is to:

  • enable parents to take up or remain in employment or study for qualifications
  • meet demand for families of working parents with children over nine months to four years to access up to 30 hours free childcare
  • ensure there are enough before, after school and holiday childcare places for working parents

The North Lincolnshire Sufficiency Audit provides an overview of the sufficiency of childcare places in North Lincolnshire. It analyses:

  • the demand for childcare across North Lincolnshire
  • the supply of available childcare places
  • identifies gaps in provision

We want to provide high quality childcare so your child can have the best start in life and you have the time to go to work, training or education.
