Supportive people are needed to become adoptive parents in North Lincolnshire. If you can give a child certainty in uncertain times and be their family, contact the adoption team today.

This appeal comes as part of National Adoption Week (12 to 18 October), which this year aims to dispel myths around who is eligible to adopt and to encourage more people to consider adoption.

In North Lincolnshire, adoptive parents are needed for children of all ages from a range of backgrounds. The adoption team is looking for people who can offer love, time and commitment to help a child achieve their hopes and dreams.

Anyone who is over 21 can adopt – there is no upper age limit. You can be single or in a relationship; you can own or rent your home. You can adopt.

You don’t have to live in North Lincolnshire to adopt and we welcome interest from those in and outside of North Lincolnshire.

A virtual information event will be held on 4 November from 5.30pm to 8pm, with a great opportunity to find out more. To join all you need to do is give the team a call on 01724 297000 between those times. An experienced adoption social worker will be waiting to take your call.

If you can’t make the information event, the adoption team would love to hear from you anytime. Give them a call on 01724 297000 or complete the simple adoption enquiries form on our website and the team will contact you.

If adoption isn’t for you, do you know someone who would make a fantastic adoptive parent? Tell them about North Lincolnshire Adoption.

Adoptive parents speak positively about the care they receive and efficiency of the process in North Lincolnshire.

One North Lincolnshire adopter said:

“Thank you so much for your help, support and kindness throughout our adoption journey. You made us feel at ease from the very beginning and you made what could have been a difficult process something which we enjoyed and got more out of than we ever thought possible.”

Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, said:

“We are reaching out to anyone who may be able to make a difference by offering a child a loving family life.

“During National Adoption Week we want to spread the message that people from all walks of life can become adoptive parents, regardless of age and gender.

“Adopting a child is simpler and quicker than you might expect, and our adoption team, rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, are on hand to help guide you at every turn.

“I would urge anyone who is interested in finding out more about this rewarding role to come to the next information event, or to get in touch with the team.”
