Proud to Care is urging people to come forward and join North Lincolnshire’s army of inspirational care workers helping their fellow residents to remain safe and well.

As well as delivering huge job satisfaction, working in care offers job security, fantastic opportunities to climb the career ladder and unlocks a fantastic package of benefits.

There has never been a better time to get started. Nationally, the Government has announced plans to invest more than £500m in the training and career development of care workers in the biggest reform of adult social care in a generation.

In North Lincolnshire, care workers can take advantage of exclusive benefits.

As well as the offer of free childcare up to 31 March 2022, those who work in care can kickstart their new year with a free annual membership to the award-winning Normanby Hall Country Park, and a three-month NL Active gym and swim membership.

With this, care workers can enjoy use of facilities including the gym, squash and badminton courts, short and table tennis, casual and programmed pool sessions and group fitness classes.

For local care workers like Louise, helping people in the community is a rewarding role that offers huge variety and fulfilment. She said:

“The clients give you that feeling, they are so grateful and no two days are the same. I’m proud to know that I’m there for somebody that might have nobody. It’s really important in our clients’ lives.

“You build a relationship with the clients and you become part of their family. The job satisfaction outweighs all the emotional ups and downs. What we do matters.”

The sense of personal achievement is echoed by Phillip, a care worker in the Scunthorpe area, who said:

“At the end of a shift I’ve often really helped somebody, supported them to do something and that’s personal and that’s nice. I can go home and actually feel, I know it sounds corny, but I really have actually achieved something.

“If I summed up my job in one word, it would be rewarding.”

People who would like to find out more can come to Scunthorpe Central Library on Wednesday 2 February. The friendly recruitment team will be on hand from 10am to 3pm to answer any questions and help people secure a new role in care.
