Places available on Early Years Foundation Stage course to become a childminder

Are you interested in a career as a childminder? Apply for a place on the Introduction to Working Within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) training course starting on 27 September.

The six-week programme takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6.15pm to 8.15pm. The training will take place face to face at a venue in Scunthorpe (to be confirmed).

Delivered by North Lincolnshire Council’s Early Years Team, the course will support you to understand the Early Years Foundation Stage, the needs of children from birth to five years old and the role of the childminder.

The programme will cover:

  • Understanding the EYFS
  • Safeguarding children
  • Play
  • Learning and development
  • Observation, assessment and planning
  • Understanding children’s behaviour
  • SEND, equality and inclusion
  • Setting up a childminding business

You will also be able to access one to one support both during and after this training to meet your individual needs.

By completing the course, you will have the underpinning knowledge to be able to implement the EYFS and to register with Ofsted as a childminder.
