A new tool to help local people assess the risks surrounding Covid-19 has been added to North Lincolnshire Council’s website.
It collates data from the Government, NHS and local sources to give a clear picture of the virus in North Lincolnshire. It shows data on Covid-19 infection rates by age and location, testing rates and results, hospital admissions and vaccination rates.
The tool is updated daily and is available on the North Lincolnshire Council website.
Ruth Twiggins, North Lincolnshire’s Public Health Consultant said: “At a time when Covid-19 infection rates are rising in North Lincolnshire it is important that people have access to the facts so they can make informed decisions about keeping themselves and their loved ones safe.
“The new tool on the council’s website collects all the information on the pandemic and displays it in an easy-to-use format. People can see if rates of infection are high in their area or in an age group that they mix with.
“The data currently shows that infection rates are high in North Lincolnshire and are rising so we need to take care – use good hand hygiene, wear a mask in crowded areas and let fresh air in if you are meeting indoors. Getting the vaccine is also important with first, second and booster jabs being offered across North Lincolnshire.
“If people are mixing or going to events such as this week’s Christmas lights switch on in Scunthorpe, they should take a free LFD test before they go to ensure they aren’t spreading the virus to others.”
