Community groups, town and parish councils and voluntary organisations across North Lincolnshire can get up to £250 to help kickstart their celebrations for the King’s Coronation.
Across the weekend of 6 to 8 May 2023, the nation will come together to celebrate King Charles III’s Coronation – a ceremony where he will be officially crowned.
North Lincolnshire Council will enable a range of community-led activities and events over the weekend with up to £250 available for each group.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The King’s Coronation will be another opportunity for communities to come together and celebrate – we want to help them do that here in North Lincolnshire.
“It will be a fantastic occasion to all come together in celebration of the King and the communities here in North Lincolnshire.”
Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for safer and stronger communities, rural, said: “Through our community grants schemes we have invested more than £120,000 in communities to enhance our natural environments, develop community buildings, install play equipment and build paths and cycle routes.
“We have also backed our town and parish councils to get community celebrations off the ground. Just as we did for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we’re making some grants available to help get the party started for the King’s Coronation.”
