Have you or a member of your family service in HM Armed Forces?

North Lincolnshire Council is a proud supporter of the Armed Forces, having been awarded a Gold standard from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in 2020.

We work with military partners, charities and public sector organisations to support those who are currently serving or have served and their families, under the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which the council has signed up to.

The Armed Forces Covenant ensures that anyone who has served in HM Armed Forces is not disadvantaged for having done so.

The council are currently providing a virtual hub for our Armed Forces community where you can speak to our Armed Forces Covenant officer, who can offer advice and point you in the right direction.

We can provide help with:

  • Housing
  • Health
  • Employment and Education
  • Welfare

The virtual hub is available Tuesday-Thursday, you can email armed.forces@northlincs.gov.uk or telephone 01724 296045, please leave a message and the Covenant officer will call you back.

For more information, please visit our Armed Forces Covenant webpages, where you can also find a list of organisations that may be able to help under our ‘community support’ section.

Cllr Elaine Marper, Armed Forces Champion, said: “North Lincolnshire Council are committed to the Armed Forces Covenant, ensuring that no member of our Armed Forces community is disadvantaged for having served.

“As Gold Award holders under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, we champion many ‘Forces Friendly’ initiatives such as paid leave for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult volunteers, staff training, partnership work with military organisations, the public sector and charities as well as Armed Forces Day.

“This single point of contact for anyone seeking advice, ensures that our local Armed Forces community can speak to someone via video call or over the telephone when they need to, under the principles of the Covenant”.

You can find further information on the Armed Forces Covenant on the Government’s webpages.
