A new, fully funded and paid introduction to care course has been launched making it easier than ever for people in North Lincolnshire to start a rewarding role in adult social care.
Care work carries fantastic benefits, offering long-term job security and the opportunity to further your career, all while making a huge difference to the lives of local residents.
On the practical two-week course, which is being delivered in partnership with Ongo Recruitment, people will have the chance learn on the job, shadow care professionals and complete both e-learning and face to face training, equipping them with the skills necessary to secure a care job.
To find out more about the course, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01724 844848, who will be happy to support with job applications and other queries.
In North Lincolnshire, care workers can take advantage of exclusive benefits.
As well as the offer of free childcare up to 31 March 2022, those who work in care can kickstart their new year with a free annual membership to the award-winning Normanby Hall Country Park, and a three-month NL Active gym and swim membership.
With this, care workers can enjoy use of facilities including the gym, squash and badminton courts, short and table tennis, casual and programmed pool sessions and group fitness classes.
For local care workers the job satisfaction of building a relationship with a fellow resident and helping them lead an independent life is immense.
Describing the impact becoming a care worker has had on her life, Jodie, 23, from Scunthorpe, said:
“I enjoy my job and it’s rewarding, you look forward to coming to work every single day. It makes your day when you see that you’ve helped the service users out.
“What makes me proud to work in care is you’re changing people’s lives, you’re getting them out for different activities and you get to see them every day, it’s just so rewarding.
“If you’re thinking about working in the care sector then I would say, go for it, it is life changing, for yourself, not only for the residents that you work with.”
