The council’s environmental crime officers have found and fined four people in separate cases related to disposing of waste.
After a man was seen on CCTV dumping a large amount of waste from a vehicle behind Berkeley Street in Scunthorpe he was tracked down via his numberplate to an address in Misterton.
He admitted flytipping and received a fixed penalty notice of £1,000, which was reduced to £700 for early payment.
In June, waste were found dumped on Porter Street. Evidence was found linking to an address in Teale Street, where a resident admitted dumping the bags.
They received a £100 fine for breaching the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
A £300 fine was served on a Frodingham Road business owner for failing to comply with regulations that required him to provide waste transfer notes for the disposal of his commercial waste.
The fixed penalty notice was paid in full.
CCTV footage caught a Berkeley Street resident leaving rubbish behind Teale Street near the Memorial Gardens.
The culprit was served with a £100 fine for breaching the PSPO.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “There are hundreds of volunteers who go out in North Lincolnshire every day picking up litter because of other people’s selfish, thoughtless and anti-social actions.
“We recently put new penalties in place and vowed to crack down even harder on fly-tippers and people who refuse to dispose of their rubbish correctly.
“These recent fines shows without a doubt that policy is working.”
