North Lincolnshire Libraries have seen a huge increase in demand for their online resources as residents take advantage of the large amount of free content available.

In May 2020, the number of e-books downloaded had increased by 233 per cent, compared to the same month last year, with titles such as The Holiday by T.M Logan and Lake House by Kate Morton coming in as the top loaned books.

The PressReader service allows free access to hundreds of digital magazines and newspapers in an easy to read format. In May 2020 this service saw an increase of 125 per cent from the same month last year. PressReader allows access to titles such as The Daily Express and The Insider.

Downloads of e-audio books also saw an increase of 164 per cent over the past month compared to the same period last year. Titles available included top children titles such as: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K Rowling and Frenemies Forever by Rachel Renee Russell.

The digital library is available for all residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it is the perfect tool for allowing people to access services whilst at home.

All North Lincolnshire Libraries online resources are free to access with a library card. If you don’t already have a library card all you need to do is contact: library.enquiries@northlincs.gov.uk.
