The council’s environmental crime officers have found and fined eight people in separate cases related to disposing of waste.
In one case, a member of the public spotted someone fly-tipping and reported it to the council.
They supplied photographs and a witness statement. The suspect admitted the offence and received a £200 fixed penalty notice.
Four offences included residents being captured on CCTV dumping waste, including a mattress in an alleyway.
They each received fines of between £100 – £200.
Envirocrime offices found evidence while patrolling in the Crosby & Park area and identified the residents responsible in two separate cases.
After being interviewed under caution, one received a £100 fine, the other £1,000 as a repeat offender.
Finally, officers tracked down the owner of an abandoned vehicle, who admitted the offence and was fined £200.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “These fines prove that our zero tolerance approach to envirocrime is paying off. I am pleased to see one case came about when a member of the public reported the crime to us and provided evidence and a witness statement.
“Our envirocrime officers can’t be everywhere, but in partnership with local people we can continue this tough action and clamp down on the selfish, anti-social few who are determined to blight our communities.”
