North Lincolnshire’s biggest ever recruitment drive for care workers starts this week.

North Lincolnshire Council has joined up with local providers to make it easier than ever to start a career in the care sector.

Our new Proud to Care website and campaign showcases vacancies in the local care sector, while championing the contribution care workers make across our communities. Their vital work, which makes a difference to people’s lives everyday, has been recognised during the pandemic alongside NHS workers and has received national praise.

The new Proud to Care North Lincs website, which launched today, makes it easy for users to see what jobs are available, apply, access information and useful guidance, and hear from the experiences of local care workers.

Caring is the perfect profession for kind and dedicated people who want to make a real difference, helping those who need support to live independently in their own homes. As a care worker, there is the potential to work flexibly around the needs of family, as well as a wealth of opportunities for career progression.

One of our care workers locally reflecting on her 16-year career in care said:

“After my mum passed away, I decided there and then that I wanted to work in care. I felt that caring for others in their own homes I was giving something back.

“I love my job. It is so rewarding. The satisfaction I get from making someone’s day is fantastic. If you were thinking about caring and have a good heart, this is the job for you. I would say go for it, you won’t regret it. I didn’t.”

Cllr Richard Hannigan, Deputy Leader of North Lincolnshire Council and cabinet member for adults and health, said:

“We are looking for caring, compassionate and committed people to become care workers and help our vulnerable residents in North Lincolnshire.

“The new Proud to Care North Lincs website is a great one stop shop for connecting people to exciting job opportunities.

“The pandemic has reinforced just how essential care workers are in helping people across our communities stay safe and well. We are extremely grateful to these key workers.”
