North Lincolnshire Council is looking to work with care providers – local and national – to help maintain and improve services vulnerable people get in their own home.

Over a million hours of home care are provided to vulnerable children, adults, and health funded individuals each year with around 900 staff working in this area to keep people safe and well.

The council has been working closely with partners, people with lived experience and its workforce to develop a care at home framework for all ages to support people to remain independent within their own homes for longer.

The framework which will be out to tender in the coming months, aims to ensure people receive good and outstanding quality of care, promote independence and connect people to their communities, promote the use of digital and assistive technologies and focus on recruiting and retaining appropriately skilled staff through Proud to Care North Lincolnshire.

Cllr Richard Hannigan, deputy leader and cabinet member for adults and health, said: “We know most people want to live independent lives and home care services are key to enable this to happen. The hundreds of people working locally with some of our most vulnerable residents do an amazing job, providing support day in and day out.

“The council is looking to work even more closely with providers to continue to provide excellent services and improve them where we can.”
