North Lincolnshire Council has awarded Barrow Events Group a £6,000 community grant to help deliver this year’s BarrowFest, the popular annual festival that brings live music, entertainment, and family fun to the heart of the village,

The event took place on Saturday 5 July 2025 and was supported by hundreds of local families, BarrowFest delivered a packed programme of performances, food stalls, children’s activities and more.

The council’s support comes from the community grant fund, which backs local groups and events that help communities thrive. Barrow Events Group used the funding to support essential running costs for the festival, which has a total budget of over £25,000. The group has already raised more than £19,000 through its own fundraising efforts and sponsorship.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “BarrowFest is a brilliant example of how local people come together to create something special for their community. The festival brings visitors into the village, supports local businesses, and gives families a fantastic day out right on their doorstep.

“We are proud to support Barrow Events Group through the community grant fund, helping them continue the hard work that makes BarrowFest such a success.”

The council’s Community Grant Fund is open to voluntary groups, charities, community organisations, town and parish councils, and other not-for-profit groups across North Lincolnshire. Junior and youth groups can apply for help with the cost of hiring premises.
