Teams from the Environment Agency are getting to work along Bottesford Beck, giving the much-loved waterway through the park a tidy-up to keep it flowing freely and looking its best.
Maintenance crews will access via Valley View Drive to keep things running smoothly and make sure Café Natura on Messingham Road can stay open as usual.
This first round of work will focus on trimming and managing bank-side vegetation – building on the recent tree care carried out by North Lincolnshire Council over the past few weeks.
Cllr John Davison, cabinet member for community wellbeing (urban), said: “We’re working closely with the Environment Agency to make sure this important maintenance is done safely and with as little disruption as possible.
“Bottesford Beck is a much-loved part of the community, and looking after it properly helps protect homes, support wildlife and keep the area a great place for families to enjoy.”
A second phase will follow later, clearing vegetation within the beck itself to help water flow more easily and reduce the risk of blockages. Details will be shared once the next stage is confirmed.
Bottesford Beck Park will stay open throughout, though visitors might notice some activity and short-term disruption between Messingham Road and Holme Hall Avenue while the work takes place.
