Published fees for bereavement services

• Administration fees (per hour) – £35
• Fees for late burial paperwork** – £60 – ** late fees are applicable to any late statutory forms and certificates, etc., which are not received by this office by 3pm three full working days prior to the funeral service to reflect the need to ensure graves are prepared in a timely and safe manner. Fees will apply to where any forms and certificates are missing or incomplete.
  Please note that as we are unable to safely process documents submitted less than 48 hours prior to an arranged funeral, you will be asked to defer your service

We are unfortunately unable to offer any cremation service at a weekend of public holiday.

  • Please note that a direct cremation is a cremation with no funeral service, or ceremony performed, and no attendees will be permitted into the chapel. This service is offered Monday to Wednesday at 8:45am and by arrangement, Monday to Friday at 9:20am. Music is not permitted via our Wesley portal.

• Chapel over-running service – £200 – We understand attending a funeral of a loved one is a difficult time for bereaved families, however, services which over-run, impact on users of our services.
• Chapel used for 40 minute memorial service – £200 (optional)
• Late cancellation charge – applies to 72 hours prior to time of service – £150
• Organist – We no longer offer an organist; however, the organ is available should you wish to appoint your own. We encourage families to liaise with our music media provider, who may be able to meet your needs.
• Replacement cremation certificate – £18
• Consultation and help with completing forms for independent funerals – £85 (optional)

Garden of Remembrance witnesses strewing –  (where the cremation has taken place at Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe, there is no charge for this service Monday to Friday between 9.30am to 3.30pm).

Saturday strewings are by appointment and must be paid in advance.

The following media services are provided by a third party and all, are optional services which can be used in conjunction when using our Woodlands Chapel. Where these have been requested, these services are chargeable.

Please note, that due to the nature of the internet, we are unable to guarantee live-streaming delivery of any audio and/or visual data will be uninterrupted or error free.

• Webcasting per service including seven days on demand – £50 (optional)
• Recording of service and presented as a downloadable MP4 link or USB–  (requested before the day of the service) £50 (optional)
• Recording of service and presented as a downloadable MP4 link or USB and including an embedded visual tribute (requested before the day of the service) – £67.50 (optional)
• Recording of a webcast (a recording of a previously webcast service can be requested up to 3 months after the webcast event has completed) £80.00* (optional)

• We operate an automated scheduling music and tribute service and we have limited ability to change music at the time of the planned event. Our media provider finalises events at 5pm on the day prior to the planned funeral service. Any same day requests for changes to music and visual media (ie. tributes, webcasts, recordings, or music), is subject to a same day amendment charge** £25

Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve graves for a period of no longer than four weeks before an exclusive right of burial must be purchased.

Please note that any transfer of ownership of Exclusive Right of Burial will be subject to the production of satisfactory evidence and title and the approval of the council.

The transfer/arrangement fee includes such transfer be registered in the records of the cemetery and the Deed of Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial endorsed at the Bereavement Services office. £85.00

The council may be able to buy back the plot and issue you with a refund of the original purchase payment, less the years of Ownership and an administration fee.

The formal date of surrender is when the Bereavement Office receives your letter of surrender instruction together with the Deed of Grant(s). When received, the Bereavement Services Office will calculate the refund owing for purchased remaining years on the Exclusive Right of Burial. Any calculations prior to the formal date of Surrender will be approximate refund figures only.

This fee will be applied when it is noted that the memorial has been fitted and no permit application made. Please note that you may be requested, at your own costs, to remove the memorial until such a time that the permitted is granted. £525.00*
