The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Cllr John Briggs, is offering you the chance to win a money-can’t-buy flight courtesy of Trent Valley Gliding Club.
The winner of the Mayor’s charity raffle will get to take part in aerobatic training flight in a glider with a qualified aerobatic instructor.
After a full pre-flight briefing at the club’s headquarters in Kirton in Lindsey, they will be towed to 3,000ft in a two-seater glider. The instructor will demonstrate a full schedule of aerobatics including a loop-the-loop.
The winner’s friends and relatives will be welcome to come and watch the flight and record this memorable experience.
All money raised by the raffle will go towards the Mayor of North Lincolnshire’s Appeal Fund, which this year is supporting The Fire Fighters Charity and Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
The raffle will be drawn on Friday 26 April 2019 at Scunthorpe Fire Station and the prize flight must be taken in May 2019. The date will be arranged with the winner, subject to suitable weather.
Cllr John Briggs, the Mayor of North Lincolnshire, said:
“Aerobatic flight training is normally only available to experience pilots, so this truly is a unique prize that money can’t buy.
“I’m very grateful to Trent Valley Gliding Club for this fantastic prize that I hope will raise important funds for these worthwhile causes.”
Tickets for the raffle cost just £2 each and can be bought by contacting the Mayor on firstname.lastname@example.org, or representatives from the two charities: Anne Millett at Lindsey Lodge Hospice (email@example.com), and Jason Frary at The Fire Fighters Charity (firstname.lastname@example.org).
