We can all make a difference this Recycle Week

Bins, Waste and Recycling
15:33, Thursday, 19th September 2019

It’s Recycle Week from 23 to 29 September and North Lincolnshire Council is showcasing how we can all make a difference in reducing our waste.

Now in its 17th year, the aim of the week is to encourage everyone to recycle more, by helping to understand the benefits of recycling items from all around the home and by offering tips and suggestions to make it easier to recycle!

The council’s recycling team will be holding roadshows during Recycle Week for residents to test their knowledge of recycling in North Lincolnshire and ask any recycling queries. You can speak to the team at:

  • Tesco Extra car park, Scunthorpe on Tuesday 24 September from 9.30am to 3pm
  • Brigg Market on Thursday 26 September from 9am to 4pm
  • Scunthorpe High Street on Friday 27 September from 9am to 4pm

Increasing our recycling rate and reducing the amount of waste we produce is just one way that the council is aiming to reduce its impact on the environment. Earlier this year, it was announced that the council had reduced its carbon emissions by over a third over the past two years – smashing an already ambitious carbon target three years early.
