The Flood and Water Management Act 2010 gives the lead local flood authority (LLFA) powers to carry out works to manage the risk of flooding from surface water, ground water and ordinary watercourses.

We work in partnership with our risk management partners to deliver schemes and works to improve all of our assets. Schemes include previous works at Barrow, Goxhill, Low Burnham and Belton.

We intend to work with our partners to issue a common works programme, to inform residents of all drainage works across the North Lincolnshire area.

Funding for capital projects can come from a number of sources including national fund defence allocations, funding through regional flood and coastal committees, local enterprise partnerships, as well as our own allocations of funding. We also look to secure private contributions to specific schemes where applicable.

We carry out routine and reactive maintenance of drainage features, for example surface water pipe and gully repairs. We routinely cleanse drains and gullies.
