10th Anniversary of the Community Champion Awards

The North Lincolnshire Community Champion Awards go from strength to strength and this year is our 10th Anniversary.

Without the sponsorship of North Lincolnshire businesses, the Community Champion Awards would not be possible.

Nominate your Community Champions online from 16 June 2022.

If you are not able to nominate online, call 01724 298452 during office hours or email BathsHall@northlincs.gov.uk for a form.

Nominations open on 16 June and close on 30 September 2022.

There are 15 awards up for grabs.

Nominate an individual, 18 years old or younger, who is committed to volunteering their time to improve the lives of individuals and/or communities within North Lincolnshire. Tell us how they have helped make a difference.

Nominate an individual, over 18 years old, who is committed to volunteering their time to improve the lives of individuals and/or communities within North Lincolnshire. Tell us how they have helped make a difference.

Nominate a individual or voluntary group whose dedication to improving the environment has been outstanding. Tell us how they have helped or encouraged others, do they have a passion for recycling or helping to protect the wildlife and green areas of North Lincolnshire?

Nominate a young person, 18 years old or younger, who has amazed you with a significant and outstanding achievement. For example, representing their county/country or a significant academic achievement.

Nominate an individual, over 18 years old, who has amazed you with an outstanding achievement or a significant personal accomplishment. For example, representing their county/country.

Nominate an individual or group who has demonstrated commitment and outstanding achievements in their chosen activity. For example, their chosen activity could include digital, dance, drama, music, singing, archaeology, heritage, drawing or writing.

Nominate an individual or group to recognise their commitment and achievements in their chosen activity to encourage themselves and/or others to be more active, to improve mental and physical wellbeing.

Nominate an individual or group who volunteers their time to make a real difference to a community. Tell us why they are your community champion. They may support the vulnerable in your community or just be the one who keeps everyone informed and involved.

Nominate an individual or group who has carried out work to challenge bullying. For example, they could have supported someone who has been bullied, challenged bullies or just worked hard to raise the awareness of bullying and the impact it can have on people.

Nominate an individual or a group who work to keep your community safe, strong or supports crime reduction.

This group or individual could be making your community a safe, vibrant, lively, exciting and a stimulating place to live. Tell us how their contribution has had a positive impact on the community. For example, a residents’ association or neighbourhood watch group, Emergency Service volunteers, positive or diversionary activities or something that has transformed the wellbeing of the community etc.

Nominate an individual or group that makes an educational setting a great place to learn. For example:

  • An individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty to support learning by running after school clubs.
  • A lunchtime supervisor, learning mentor or nursery worker who has gone the extra mile to make you feel safe, welcome and ready to learn.
  • Making the community accessible for people with additional needs and developing digital inclusion.

Nominate a young person, 18 years old or younger, who provides care for an adult or child with additional needs. The person they care for does not have to be a family member, it could be a friend or neighbour.

Nominate an individual, over 18 years old, who provides care for an adult or child with additional needs. The person they care for does not have to be a family member, it could be a friend or neighbour. E.g. Foster Carer.

Nominate an individual or group who have overcome either personal challenges, gone above and beyond to achieve their aims.

The personal adversity they have had to overcome could be anything, for example financial, physical or mental health. This could also be someone who has displayed courage, resolution or daring in the face of danger or adversity.

Nominate an individual who over their lifetime has demonstrated extraordinary levels of commitment and dedication that have resulted in significant achievements for them personally or for their organisation, community or charity.
