Register to vote in the Parliamentary general election

Your Council
15:26, Monday, 11th November 2019

The UK will head to the polls on Thursday 12 December 2019 for a Parliamentary general election.

To make sure you can vote in this election, you need to register before 26 November 2019. You can register to vote online now.

If you voted in the North Lincolnshire local elections or European elections in May 2019, and you have not moved house since then, you do not need to re-register to vote in this election.

Once you are registered, you can also apply for vote by post. Anyone can apply to vote by post and you do not need to give a reason. You must apply before 26 November 2019 to receive a postal vote for the General Election on 12 December.

If you aren’t able to cast your vote in person, you can have someone you trust cast your vote for you (voting by proxy). If you wish to vote by proxy in the general election, please apply as soon as possible. The deadline for applications to vote by proxy is 5 December 2019.

On election day, polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Your polling station will be listed on your poll card, which you will receive through the post in the coming weeks. You do not need to take your poll card with you to vote.
