Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library gives free books to families across the world – and now almost 40,000 children in the UK will learn to love reading even more thanks to the creative staff at North Lincolnshire Council.
The Imagination Library works in partnership with local councils and charities to send free books to children every month from birth until age five.
In North Lincolnshire, the Imagination Library team add extra value to the service by putting ideas sheets together for families who have received the books.
The sheets are so successful the Imagination Library are now sending them out to more than 200 partners across the country, where they could be forwarded to thousands of children.
The team have already had a positive response from other organisations keen to work with them on the resource sheets.
One education officer said:
“These are marvellous and I have emailed them out immediately, great timing as a foster carer was asking for resources only this morning!”
The sheets include tips on how to get the most out of the free books, fun things to do linked to the stories and even recipe ideas.
