North Lincolnshire Council is one of the most productive in the UK in adult social care, according to a new report.

Public sector consultancy company IMPOWER released the report examining the highest performing councils in relation to adult social care with the Municipal Journal (MJ).

The MJ reports that North Lincolnshire Council is among 11 unitary authorities, three London boroughs and one county council on the top 15 list of councils. The ranking recognises those councils which are “providing above average outcomes” in adult social care.

Ralph Cook, a director with IMPOWER, says the highest performing councils should all be “congratulated” in a further piece of analysis published by the MJ.

He writes: “They have all been able to achieve greater than average outcomes from a less than average spend per head. This means that users of social care in their local areas are getting better outcomes at the same time as the council is making best use of public funds.”

This latest report comes after the council was in November 2019 named as the eighth most productive council in the country across a broader range of areas.

The “Which Councils are Best?” report examines outcome productivity, which is described by IMPOWER as “the value that councils achieve for every pound that they invest”.
