Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe is undergoing refurbishment work to improve the experience for people visiting.
More than £28,000 is being invested into the crematorium to improve the entrance and foyer area.
New external doors have already been installed and further work will be carried out between 21 April and 11 May to install a new ceiling and LED lighting, new internal doors, carpets and decorations.
The crematorium will be closed whilst work is carried out between 21 and 26 April, then between 5 and 10 May, except the Book of Remembrance rooms that can still be accessed.
Cllr Neil Poole, cabinet member for commercial, said:
“We are already doing a lot of work in Woodlands Memorial Gardens, one of our Green Flag-winning parks. By investing in the crematorium building itself and carrying out sensitive improvements we hope to improve the overall experience for visitors at what is a very sad and difficult time for many people.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.”
