Save money on your energy bills with our hassle-free switch

North Lincolnshire Council is committed to helping residents save money on their energy bills, which is why we are contacting householders with details of our latest collective switch.

Households in North Lincolnshire saved an average of £270 last year after taking part in the Big Community Switch – a no-obligation, hassle-free way of cutting your gas and electric bills.

The scheme has been running since August 2013 and has so far saved local households collectively more than £100,000 on fuel bills.

All you have to do is register your interest before 9 February by filling a form with your details, current energy supplier and your gas and electricity consumption – this information will be on your latest bill.

The council has invited energy suppliers to take part in an auction on 9 February. They will be bidding against each other to offer the best deal.

The winning supplier will be the one making the lowest offer, and the more households that take part the greater our negotiating power.

And as part of our commitment to the environment, it is a requirement that all the tariffs in the auction are for renewable energy.

Everyone who has registered will receive an email from 22 February telling them about the offer and how much money they can save.

There is no obligation to take up the offer, but if you decide to accept you have until 23 March to let us know.

The council takes care of the switch – it won’t involve engineers calling at your home, you will simply receive a notification when it has gone through.

You can just sit back and enjoy the fact you are saving money!

Everyone will be receiving a letter with details about the switch, but for more information you can visit the collective switching page on our website. To register, go to the Big Community Switch website for North Lincolnshire.

Alternatively, you can call the Big Community Switch helpline on 0800 048 8285. This line is not run by North Lincolnshire Council but by our Big Community Switch partner iChoosr.
