North Lincolnshire Council is inviting developers to bring forward proposals to regenerate a two-acre site in the Brumby Ward, creating new homes designed to meet a clear local need for older people’s accommodation.
The site, extending to around two acres, is currently being demolished by the council ahead of sale, creating a cleared site ready for redevelopment.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The site is well placed for this kind of development. There are shops and a park close by, with walking routes and everything people need nearby, it really is spot on for this type of scheme.”
The development brief is seeking proposals for bungalow-style homes or low-rise, single-storey flats for older residents, alongside shared community space.
Cllr Len Foster, leader of the opposition and ward member for Brumby, said: “Regeneration is the big issue here, and there is a real requirement locally for accommodation designed for mature residents.”
