North Lincolnshire Council has secured Government funding to provide eligible households with external wall insulation and solar photovoltaic (SV) panels – helping you save money on energy bills and heat your home efficiently.

Solar PV panels sit on your roof, and with proper maintenance generate electricity using energy from the sun, even on days when there is no direct sunlight.

For residents taking part in the scheme a survey of the property will take place to ensure roofs have adequate exposure to sunlight and sufficient strength to support the install of solar panels.

External solid wall insulation not only makes a house energy efficient, but it can improve the look and feel of your property, keep your home warm, save you money on your energy bills and comes with a 25-year insurance backed warranty.

If you have a combined household income below £30,000 and your home has a poor energy performance rating, then you could benefit from the scheme (subject to survey).

Additional insulation measures (such as loft insulation) may also be available in the scheme.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, external solid wall insulation can save the average household around £225 a year on fuel bills.

To qualify for either scheme, you must live in North Lincolnshire and:

  • have a combined household income of £30,000 or less ; and
  • live in a property with solid walls with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) in bands D, E, F or G – please note that a new EPC will be provided at point of survey if required.

Eligible homeowners will receive fully funded installs for both solar photovoltaic panels and external wall insulation, whereas landlords will be required to contribute around a third of the total cost.

Funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The council is working in partnership with energy experts YES Energy Solutions to identify qualifying households.

YES Energy Solutions’ friendly advisors will help residents with advice and guidance during their involvement in the scheme.
