A new campaign to help people waste less food launches next week.

Food Waste Action Week runs from Monday 1 to Sunday 7 March 2021 to raise awareness of the impact that wasting food has on the environment and how it feeds climate change.

Love Food Hate Waste, which is part of The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), are asking everyone to pledge their support and spread the word about how to waste less food.

People do not realise that when we throw away food that could have been eaten we are not just wasting food but the valuable resources that went into making it including water, land and greenhouse gases.

WRAP have released a variety of tips of the small changes that everyone can make that will help reduce food waste, such as creating new tasty recipes using leftover food and ways to only buy what you need. They are challenging everyone to try and reduce their own household food waste to as close to zero as possible.

If you are hungry for change and want to get involved in Food Waste Action Week visit the Love Food Hate Waste website.
