North Lincolnshire Council has awarded £11,440 to Thealby Play Area Committee to improve the play area for all.

New play equipment has been installed including a roundabout that people with disabilities can access, a new safety surface and two picnic tables and benches.

The improvements have enhanced the play experience for all visitors to the play area.

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“Investment in play areas for all young people is a priority for this council. Our Community Grant Fund was set up to support local communities to develop their area and provide opportunities for residents. It is fantastic that Thealby has been able to carry out improvement work to its play area making it accessible for all.”

Alan Craddock on behalf of Thealby Play Area Committee, said:

“We were really keen to develop and expand the play equipment at Thealby Play Area, which is why we applied for a Community Grant Fund. We were delighted to receive the funding as it allowed us to make the play equipment inclusive for all. Without the support of North Lincolnshire Council we wouldn’t have been able to carry out the improvements.”
