Are you ready for a fulfilling challenge this year?

North Lincolnshire Council is looking for people who want to put something back into the community by making a difference to the next generation.

2020 was a difficult year for many of us, especially young people in the care of the local authority who may rely on support networks and face-to-face contact.

To help them cope with the challenges 2021 may bring, we are looking for over-18s to volunteer as Independent Visitors, and become a friend and mentor to a child or young person.

This usually involves having monthly contact with the young person providing them with support independent of the professionals in their life.

When restrictions allow, it could also include going on trips out or taking part in activities together.

The role is fun and fulfilling – full training and support is provided, and reasonable expenses are reimbursed. You will be matched to one child or young person at a time.

For more details go to the Independent Visitors page on our website, email independentvisitors@northlincs.gov.uk , or call 01724 297000 for an informal chat about the role.
