North Lincolnshire has been ranked among the best in the country for adult social care.

The findings come as part of the recent national Adult Social Care Outcome Framework (ASCOF) that compares local performance with other councils in England.

The service has improved or remained consistent in 24 out of 29 performance indicators, ensuring that North Lincolnshire remains in the top 10 nationally for councils with numbers of adult social care outcome measures in the top quartile.

The area recorded consistently impressive feedback across the survey, with even more people saying they feel safe as a result of the support they receive.

In 2019/20 the council helped more than 11,000 people with early help to live independently as long as possible, responding quickly when an issue emerged.

A further 2,000 people with longer term needs were also supported to have choice and control over their lives, boosting their confidence and self-esteem.

The service also received excellent feedback from carers, who said that they find it easy to access advice and information and are happy with the support they receive.

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“It is great to get the confirmation once again of the quality care and support which is available to adults across North Lincolnshire – it is testament to the hard work of many who are committed to keeping people safe and well.”

Cllr Richard Hannigan, Deputy Leader of North Lincolnshire Council and cabinet member for adults and health, said:

“I am delighted with these findings – they are a real tribute to not just the adult social care team but the council as a whole.

“We are passionately committed to helping people to remain independent and enabling them to live the life they want to live.

“The findings demonstrate our dedication to prioritising the most vulnerable and keeping people safe, well and connected to their communities. We are never complacent however and are always looking for further improvements.”

Compassionate, caring and committed people are needed to become care workers and help North Lincolnshire residents.
