New play facilities have been installed in West Halton following a £44,000 grant from North Lincolnshire Council.

The funding from the council’s Community Grant Fund was recently awarded to West Halton Parish Council to install a brand new play area and new goal posts in the village.

The new playground includes a climbing frame with a slide, new swings, seesaws, and an accessible roundabout.

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“It is fantastic to see this new equipment installed just in time for summer. Young people and their families will now be able to get outside and enjoy the brand new play facilities in the heart of their village.

“We are continuing to prioritise and invest in facilities for young people, supporting local communities to develop their area and provide opportunities for families.”

Cllr Helen Rowson, Lead member for rural communities, adds:

“The parish council have worked really hard to deliver this important new play area with the funding we secured from the council. The summer break is a long time and I am really proud that this scheme has been delivered within budget and ready for the summer so that local young people can enjoy the new play facilities.”

Charles Dent, Clerk to West Halton Parish Council said:

“We are very grateful to North Lincolnshire Council for the funding from the Community Grant pot. This is a very welcome investment in West Halton and I know the play area will be enjoyed by generations to come.”
