The University of Lincoln’s director of business development has been announced as a speaker for the latest event being delivered by the North Lincolnshire Ambassador Programme.

Ruchi Aggarwai will speak at the event – to be held at North Lindsey College’s events centre on Thursday 23 May – which will examine the skills challenges the region faces and how the development of a higher education offer will help address them.

Ruchi is a marketing and strategy professional with more than two decades of multi-industry, cross-cultural experience. She has been based both in India and the UK working with, most recently, the University of Lincoln but previously in international rugby, telecoms, healthcare and IT.

An accomplished industry speaker, Ruchi has delivered a Tedx talk and has a special interest in the development of talent in women and has spoken across the world to speak on how women can break through and succeed. She was part of Microsoft and was on Microsoft India’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.

The event comes ahead of the opening of the University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) which will, when fully developed, come to represent a region-wide collective of higher-education assets tailored to accommodate the needs of the local economy, and help to inject new skills into businesses.

Opening in September, this first project at the Civic Centre is part of a wider, higher-level skills provision for people and businesses in North Lincolnshire.

The redevelopment of the Civic Centre with the DN Colleges Group and University of Lincoln will provide a hub for the development of higher-level skills across the sub region with particular emphasis on Engineering, Health, Leadership and Innovation.
