Free fitness taster sessions for young people

North Lincolnshire Council is launching brand new NL Active fitness activities in April for young people and is offering free taster sessions during the Easter holidays.

The weekly activities will take place at The Pods leisure centre in Scunthorpe.

The aim is to encourage young people and their families to become more active and enjoy healthier lifestyles.

Free taster sessions will be provided during the Easter break and after that, promotional prices will be available.

The activities include:

Junior Fun and Fit – a 45 minute session based on circuit training, fun games and challenges for young people aged 11 to 16 to improve all round fitness.

When: Every Monday and Wednesday from 4pm to 4.45pm starting 8 April 2019.

Free taster sessions are available on Monday 8, Wednesday 10, Monday 15 and Wednesday 17 April 2019. Sessions will cost £3 thereafter.

Family Fitness – a one hour session based on circuit training and challenges for families to work out alongside each other and have fun.

When: Every Saturday from 9.45am to 10.45am starting 6 April 2019.

Free taster sessions are available on Saturday 6 and 13 April. Sessions will cost £4 per child and free participating adult.

This is suitable for children aged eight and over. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult, with a maximum of two children to one adult.

Junior Multi-sports – supervised individual, team sports and games that will vary each week.

When: Every Saturday from 11am to 12.15pm starting on 6 April 2019.

Free taster sessions are available on Saturday 6 and 13 April. Sessions will cost £5 per child thereafter.

It is suitable for ages eight to 14.

Places should be booked in advance as they are limited. To book, call The Pods on 01724 291900 or ask at reception.

Children attending for the first time will need a parental consent form to be completed before attending. The form can be collected from The Pods reception before or on the day (in advance of the session starting).
