20-21 Visual Arts Centre are launching an exciting 3D online tour of the building on 30 May.
As part of the interactive experience, developed by Lincoln-based Bee3D Ltd, people will be able to explore two thought provoking exhibitions from the comfort of their own home.
Our Plastic Ocean is the award-winning photographer Mandy Barker’s response to the impact of plastic pollution. In the exhibition, Barker collects debris from shorelines from across the globe and transforms them into powerful images, presented alongside notebooks and journals from her journey.
In a second exhibition, the acclaimed TRUE TO SIZE, contemporary artist Heather Phillipson has created a mixed media installation of stimulating, fantastical and furry sculptural narratives.
As well as enjoying the exhibitions, virtual visitors will be able to select points of interests and discover more about the arts centre. This includes the popular ARTivity table, where they will find a craft activity to complete at home.
While the centre has been temporarily closed, staff have been working hard to protect those most in need across our communities. This has included preparing food parcels, which have been distributed to the homeless in temporary accommodation.
Other initiatives have brought the gallery into our front rooms. More than 250 people have joined two community Facebook groups, enjoying art based discussion, creative inspiration, recipes from café staff and craft activities.

For a truly immersive experience, people can also use a VR headset if they own one.
