North Lincolnshire Council is urging people to take care in the extreme weather conditions and don’t put themselves at risk as the snow and freezing temperatures set in.
Normanby Hall Country Park will be open as normal over the weekend.
Normanby Hall parkrun has been cancelled.
Normanby Hall Golf Course is closed until further notice.
Thank you to residents whose bins have not been collected over the past few days for their patience, support and understanding.
We would like to apologise for this disruption to our collections but have prioritised our efforts to keep our major routes and main roads open.
We have also focused on reopening our Household Recycling Centres in Scunthorpe, Goxhill, Belton and Winterton. These, along with those in Barton, Broughton and Kirton in Lindsey, are open as normal over the weekend.
While the main roads are clear, many throughout North Lincolnshire remain impassable for our vehicles collecting waste.
If Wednesday, Thursday or Friday is your general waste bin day, please leave your bin out and we will return to collect it as soon as we can between Tuesday 6 and Friday 9 March.
To help us catch up with general waste collections, there will be no brown (garden waste) bin collections next week (week commencing 5 March). All other waste and recycling collections planned for next week are expected to take place as normal.
Unfortunately, we are unable to return to collect burgundy (plastics) or brown (garden waste) bins, or green and blue recycling boxes. These will be collected as normal at your next scheduled collection.
We politely ask that residents put excess bagged household waste back in their bin once it has been emptied. Excess waste and recycling can be taken to one of our Household Recycling Centres or Community Recycling Centres.
We continue to monitor the weather and gritting and ploughing crews will treat roads as necessary over the weekend.
Although road conditions are much better than earlier in the week, we are advising people to drive with extreme care as road conditions may still be difficult, especially in rural areas.
Please proceed with extreme caution and only go out if you have to.
Please take care and drive safely.
