The A1077 to South Ferriby is being reopened tomorrow (Tuesday 10 December) at 6am after it was temporarily closed last week due to the severe flooding in North Lincolnshire.
Part of the A1077 will be down to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic lights.
The 350 Humber FastCat bus will be running as usual when the road reopens. However there may be a slight delay.
Around 500 properties in 11 villages were affected by the flooding in North Lincolnshire. Over the weekend an army of skips and bin bags were delivered to affected communities and we lifted the restrictions on the collection of bulky items to help those affected.
A pop up local link run by our Customer Service staff and staff from North Lincolnshire Homes is in the process of being sent out to the worst affected areas. A rota is being drawn up to ensure that anybody who wants to speak to us face-to-face will be able to do so.
Important advice following a flood:
Do not eat food that has touched flood water and don’t eat fresh food from the fridge or freezer if your electricity has been turned off.
Wash your hands regularly and clean work surfaces before and after preparing food. If water is not available use hand-sanitising gel or wet wipes.
Make sure your family take their medicines and attend scheduled medical appointments.
Dial ‘111’ if you have non-urgent health concerns.
Stay with friends or family, or ask the council to help you find alternative accommodation if your home has been damaged by floodwater.
Only return to your home when essential repairs and cleaning have been completed.
