Help at hand for rough sleepers in cold weather

Help at hand for rough sleepers in cold weather

18 March 2018

The council has a Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) which we trigger when temperatures fall below zero on any given night.

The protocol exists to ensure anybody sleeping rough in North Lincolnshire during adverse weather is offered emergency accommodation to get them off the street. We work with individuals and agencies to do this.

For help, call 01724 297000. If you are calling on behalf of somebody else, please make sure they are with you.

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough in the severe weather, you can also send an alert to Streetlink via the Streetlink app. This gives us information about people sleeping rough so we can help them.

If you have any donations for rough sleepers, please take them to The Forge or food banks.

The council is part of the Making Every Adult Partnership, which aims to transform the lives of people, including those who are homeless. We will be using the multi-agency approach to help rough sleepers, particularly around housing them.
