Well known pet store Jim Bale Pet Stores will be trading from the new £4m St John’s Market when it opens in spring 2019.
North Lincolnshire Council is in the process of allocating stalls to traders and is also keen to attract new traders wishing to set up a small business in the new indoor market.
The Pet Store is one of the longest serving stalls on the current Scunthorpe Market. They recently announced, due to personal reasons, that they would be leaving the market and instead setting up a business elsewhere in the town.
Julia Murray, from Jim Bale Pet Stores, said of the move:
"Our whole family would like to thank the public and our fellow traders for support us. I would also like to thank North Lincolnshire Council who have listened to us. Hopefully the future will be positive!"
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said:
“Obviously we are delighted to have the Pet Store on board with the new St John’s Market. It will mean a great deal to a lot of people. They have, over the years, built up a good customer following, so it is good to see they have changed their mind and will be joining us and many other traders – new and old – on this incredible journey to create a modern and vibrant market.”
