Over 20 people took part in the Westcliff Hub volunteer Task Force fancy dress sponsored walk on 4 June and they raised £1,000.
The walk was five miles taking the volunteers around the Westcliff and Riddings area, starting at the Hub building at the Precinct.
It was supported by staff from Safer Neighbourhoods, Ongo and Humberside Police.
The Task Force is made up of members of the community including volunteers, resident group and Neighbourhood Watch. It was set up to help with community projects and promote pride in the community.
The youngest member Lewis Fish aged four raised £356.50.
All the money raised goes back into the community for crime prevention and environmental projects. It will also fund activities provided for the community at the Hub throughout the year.
Debbie Winning from the Safer Neighbourhoods team, said
“This is an excellent example of the community coming together to improve the area and provide opportunities.
“Well done to everyone who took part in the sponsored walk. The money will be put back into the community to help with a range of projects, which are agreed through a committee of our partners and residents.”
