The winners of the 2015 Song for Christmas competition, St Norbert’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy in Crowle, will be presented with their prizes this afternoon (Friday 4 March).
The competition, which took place in November last year, saw school choirs across North Lincolnshire enter their Christmas song to win new music equipment and the chance to perform at the Christmas Light Switch On event in Scunthorpe.
Following a tough deliberation process, St Norbert’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy were announced the winners with their powerful rendition of Colours of Christmas by John Rutter.
On Friday 4 March 2016, Cllr John Briggs and Cllr Julie Reed, ward councillors for Axholme North, will present pupils from St Norbert’s with their prizes – brand new music equipment for their school!
Cllr John Briggs, cabinet member for Assets, Culture and Housing at North Lincolnshire Council, said:
“The choir from St Norbert’s Catholic Primary Academy in Crowle wowed the judges in the Song for Christmas competition last year and won £1,500 worth of new music equipment for their school.
“We’re sure that pupils at St Norbert’s have been itching to get their hands on their new music equipment after winning the competition in November and we are delighted to be presenting it to our budding musicians.”
