Hundreds have already had their say - don't miss your chance

10 March 2017

North Lincolnshire Council is hosting events across the area to ask your views about your local town council and the future of our area. Over 1,000 people have already had their say at events in Bottesford, Crowle, Brigg and Epworth, online and through the post.

At the consultation events, we want to know your opinions to help shape the new North Lincolnshire Local Plan and for our Community Governance Review.

The Local Plan is a document which sets out the vision and objectives for the area; it establishes the amount and location for growth and acts as a guide for future development over the next 19 years.

The Community Governance Review looks at the electoral arrangements of North Lincolnshire’s eight town council areas; Barton, Bottesford, Brigg, Broughton, Crowle and Ealand, Epworth, Kirton-in-Lindsey, and Winterton. Residents in these areas will receive a consultation form through the post but the event is a chance to further discuss how you feel your town council represents your community.

You can come along to our upcoming consultation events at:

  • Monday 13 March from 3pm to 7pm at Broughton Village Hall

  • Wednesday 15 March from 3pm to 6.45pm at Old School Hall Community Centre, Winterton

  • Monday 20 March from 4pm to 7pm at Kirton-in-Lindsey Town Hall

  • Tuesday 21 March from 3pm to 7pm at Barton Assembly Room

  • Monday 27 March from 3pm to 6.30pm at Ulceby Village Hall*

  • Tuesday 28 March from 3pm to 7pm at Civic Centre, Scunthorpe*

  • Wednesday 29 March from 3pm to 7pm at Bottesford Pavilion

  • Monday 3 April from 3pm to 7pm at Crowle Resource Centre

*Local Plan consultation events only.

Drop in sessions for the Local Plan will be held from 10am to 3pm at Brigg Tourist Information Centre on 23 and 30 March, and at the Action Station, Cole Street, Scunthorpe on 31 March and 1 April.

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“The Local Plan and Community Governance Review will both shape the future of North Lincolnshire and so it is important that we hear from as many residents as possible. It has been very promising to see so many people coming to our consultation events to share their views with us.

“If you haven’t shared your views with us yet, there is still time. Come along to one of our upcoming events and help us realise our vision for North Lincolnshire to be a place where people want to live, work, invest and play.”
