Young people – getting involved

Information for young people who want to get involved in volunteer work or want to have a say in local decisions.

Find out how you can make a difference:

Through surveys and feedback, young people and families have identified some areas of focus to challenge local partners to work together to take action. They have also identified challenges for themselves. These challenges are articulated in the Children’s Challenge-2020-24 and have also helped to shape and influence the Children’s Commissioning Strategy.

We are always looking for your views on how to improve services to young people in North Lincolnshire. To find out what we are currently consulting on and to have your say, check out our current consultations page.

Are you interested in putting your questions and views across and challenge decision making to a panel on today’s topical issues? Last year saw 60 young people take part in the Great Debate and contribute to discussions on the summer riots, child poverty, services for young people, youth opportunity and the role of the media.

If you are interested, look out for upcoming information on when the debate will take place and how to get involved.

Takeover week gives children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities the chance to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision making. Young people benefit from the opportunity to experience the working environment and make their voices heard whilst adults and organisations gain a fresh perspective on what they do.
