Mobile library service

What our mobile library offers

Our mobile library visits 142 stops on a three weekly rota, and five stops on a weekly rota, across 17 routes. It is your local library if you cannot get to one of our branch libraries.

You can register for the mobile library once on board, or online in advance of your first visit.  If you have a membership card from another North Lincolnshire library, you will not have to register separately to use the mobile library, although we may need to re-register your membership.

As well as offering a good selection of books, the mobile library is an access point to other library and council services.  If you would like to borrow an item that is not on the mobile library, you can submit a request as in any of our other libraries.

You can return any items borrowed from the mobile library to any of our branch libraries. You can also renew books and other items online or over the telephone.

Access and availability

The mobile libraries have a lift for wheelchair users and people with mobility problems or who find steps difficult. Please ask for help if you wish to use it.

Occasionally we have to take our mobile libraries off the road for repair or routine maintenance. We try to do this at times which cause minimum inconvenience to you and will announce dates in advance.

Please note that the service does not operate on bank holidays.  Some Monday routes may run on a Tuesday instead following a bank holiday Monday. Please check our route and stop information for details.

Finding a stop near you

We visit locations all around North Lincolnshire. You can use our interactive map to find where we stop and when.

Today's visits are highlight in blue. You can also view the locations of our branch libraries by clicking in box in the top right of the map.

You can use the drop down list below the map to zoom to a parish.

New Mobile Library stop: Burton upon Stather

From Tuesday 6 June 2017, the weekly Burton upon Stather Mobile Library visit will include a stop at Burton upon Stather Primary School, Flixborough Road, DN15 9HB.

Instead of remaining at the Medical Centre on Norfolk Avenue between 1pm and 4.30pm, the Mobile Library will move to the school at 3pm, open to customers at 3.05pm, and stay there until 4.30pm.  The new stop will be open to all customers, all year round, including school holidays, not just children and families from the school.
