Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme

Are you ready for a challenge? The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award can certainly provide that!

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme is open to anyone aged 14 to 23. No special qualifications are needed – just a willingness to have a go.  The scheme is currently offered at Epworth and Scunthorpe youth sessions, schools and colleges.  Many organisations such as employers and universities take a good view of the award and what it says about the person who has achieved it.

There are three levels:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold

For each level, you complete activities in four sections:

  • Volunteering
  • Skills
  • Physical Recreation
  • Expeditions

There has never been a better time to join The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in North Lincolnshire.  As part of an expanding range of activities for young people, you can enrol at a variety of venues. Schools providing direct enrolment are located in Brigg, Scunthorpe, Crowle and Epworth.  You can also enrol at a number of open units operating in Epworth and Scunthorpe. These open units provide enrolment opportunities at all three levels.

Open units

  • Oswald House, 74 Oswald Road, Scunthorpe
  • Epworth Youth Centre, High Street, Epworth

Progression through the award is achieved and recorded on an electronic portal on The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award website.
