Alkborough Conservation Area Appraisal

Most people have heard of conservation areas but few fully understand how a conservation area works.

The Alkborough Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) provides an explanation of the workings of a conservation area and an assessment of the conservation area character and appearance.

The adopted SPG elaborates on the council's existing planning policies for conservation areas and is an important planning consideration.  It also suggests some future courses of action to help preserve the character and appearance of the conservation area.

The two documents given below together make up the current SPG for the conservation area.

Local involvement - We would like to hear from anyone who lives, works, or uses facilities in the Alkborough conservation area and has opinions about its character, appearance and condition. People who live in the local area will also have opinions and we would be pleased to hear from them as well.

Copies of all the above documents can be viewed by prior appointment with the Clerk to Alkborough Parish Council - Mrs H M Hindess, 'Hunters Moon', Whitton Road, Alkborough, DN15 9JG - and at Pittwood House and Church Square House in Scunthorpe.
